Experience

  • Illustrator (Vector), Designer at The Ling Space
    MONTREAL, Canada
    August 2014 - August 2019

Providing assets for The Ling Space, a YouTube educational channel on the linguistics field, with simple weekly vector cartoons and diagrams as well as motion graphics and text in AfterEffects for illustrating key learning points and adding humor.

A style guide for company use was also developed and provided, and put into use several episodes in.

"I hired atelierMUSE from the outset to manage the visual styling for my educational YouTube channel, The Ling Space. They helped me greatly in refining my vision for the look of the channel, and they produced a fantastic style guide for the whole team to refer to. As the main graphics team for the channel, they've been closely involved in our production process, from suggesting ways to film episodes for greater impact to creating the graphics and animations for each episode. They've been highly responsive to any concerns I've had, and always responded quickly to requests for edits or feedback. The bottom line is that they're amazing to work and collaborate with, and have made the whole project far better and more visually polished. I can't recommend them highly enough."

  • Brand Designer at Argo Bookstore
    MONTREAL, Canada
    February 2017 - April 2017

Provided art assets and modernization of Argo designs and interior for re-opening. Argo is Montreal's oldest English-language bookstore. We are proud to contribute to its legacy and revitalize it to be the sort of welcoming community space that is the hallmark of brick-and-mortar stores in the 21st century.

"Team atelierMUSE are our go-to resource for anything graphic for the bookshop. When we bought the Argo, it had a 50-year history in the community, and we wanted to honour that while giving it a complete rebranding that was true to our vision of the store. Team atelierMUSE did an incredible job, from logo to font selection to putting together a custom colour palette that we use in all our promotional materials as well as physical decorations for the space. They were very responsive in understanding our vision and a joy to work with. We get compliments all the time from customers about the new look of the store, the cool bookmarks, the updated logo, etc. Add to that the monthly promotional posters Team atelierMUSE provide, and we couldn't be happier."

  • Storyboard artist at Shivnath Productions
New York, United States of America
    February 2013 - April 2013

Storyboards from provided shotlist (97 mins). We introduced several visual elements during close development with the Shivnath team to underscore visually the time-travelling loop aspect of the film.

"I've had the pleasure of working with KrisRix and Simon on many occasions, and they never fail to amaze. Their dedication, artistic precision and integrity, and level of professional communication makes them a wonderful team, and a great addition to any project. My most recent experience with them was working on the storyboards for an upcoming feature film. After going over look and tone together, I provided them with a shotlist, and the images they came up with exceeded all expectations. It was like the scenes in my mind had been translated onto the pages before me. When I provided feedback, they responded quickly and made changes as necessary. It was truly a pleasure to work with them."
